Perodua is the second national car manufacturer in Malaysia founded in 1993, stands for Perusahaan Otomobil Kedua Sdn Bhd. Owned by a Malaysian and Japanese consortium, Perodua started selling its first model the Perodua Kancil in 1994. Achieving a reputation in manufacturing small and relatively inexpensive cars, Perodua became popular in Malaysia almost instantly. since then the body of this company grew and added new models like the Myvi, Axia, and Bezza making it one of the top automotive manufacturing companies in Malaysia today. This is well coupled with reliability, low costs of production, and strategic cooperation with Japanese firms such as Daihatsu.
