Nissan car has been operating in Malaysia since the 50s when the company was initially introduced through adding it to local showrooms through imports. Tan Chong Motor Holdings Bhd was appointed the sole distributor of Nissan vehicles in the seventies in Malaysia. Consequently, the partnership was marked by the assembly of Nissan cars within the country to increase its demand. Nissan over the years has enjoyed the success of models such as the Sunny, Sentra, the most current Almera and X-Trail. To date Nissan is still an active participant of the automotive market of Malaysia presenting to the local buyers a wide choice from economical sedans to universal Off Road Vehicles.
