Mazda car was launched in Hiroshima, Japan in 1920 as Toyo Cork Kogyo Co., Ltd., specializing in manufacturing of machine tools and later switched to production of vehicles in 1931, launched Mazda-Go auto rickshaw. Mazda officially began to operate under its current monicker in 1984, though it is named after Mazda, Jujiro Matsuda the founder of the company and also the Middle Persian god of intelligence, Ahura Mazda. Probably the most famous of the line, the Wankel rotary engine was introduced by the innovative company of Mazda in the 1967 Cosmo Sport. Nonetheless Mazda managed to form a strategic alliance with Ford in 1979, which was dissolved in 2015. Modern Mazda is associated with attractive, sporty cars, and the objectives of its “Skyactiv” are to reach optimal balance between fuel consumption and fun to drive.
